Monica’s Superior K-9’s Dog Grooming Salon is hiring an experienced dog groomer to join our team.

We are looking for a dependable, skilled groomer who can complete quality grooms safely and efficiently, communicate professionally with clients, and contribute to the daily operation of the salon.

This is a hands-on, team-based position. Grooming will be your primary responsibility, but all team members help keep the salon clean, organized, and running smoothly.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform full-service dog grooming, including baths, haircuts, nail trims, nail grinding, brushing, ear cleaning, sanitary trimming, paw pad trimming, and finishing work.
  • Groom dogs of different breeds, sizes, coat types, and temperaments.
  • Complete full haircuts independently.
  • Bathe, dry, brush, and prepare your own dogs when bather assistance is unavailable.
  • Complete thorough client check-ins.
  • Confirm haircut instructions, coat condition, pricing, and grooming expectations before beginning.
  • Identify matting, behavior concerns, coat issues, and additional grooming needs during check-in.
  • Recommend appropriate grooming upgrades and add-ons without pressuring clients.
  • Communicate professionally with pet owners.
  • Maintain safe, patient, and humane dog-handling practices.
  • Enter clear grooming, behavior, pricing, and pet notes into the salon system.
  • Notify management promptly about delays, injuries, safety concerns, difficult dogs, or client issues.

Shared Salon Responsibilities: Although grooming is the main responsibility, groomers may also be expected to assist with normal salon operations, including.
  • Answering salon phones when assigned or when assistance is needed.
  • Greeting and checking in clients.
  • Helping schedule or confirm appointments.
  • Explaining grooming services and starting prices.
  • Contacting clients with grooming updates.
  • Checking clients out when assigned.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting grooming tables, tubs, tools, suites, and work areas.
  • Sweeping and removing hair throughout the day.
  • Completing laundry and restocking supplies.
  • Assisting coworkers when reasonably needed.
  • Completing opening or closing cleaning duties.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe grooming station.
  • Bathing and drying your own scheduled dogs when necessary.

Everyone contributes to the salon’s cleanliness, safety, client experience, and daily workflow.

Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of professional dog grooming experience.
  • Ability to complete full haircuts independently.
  • Comfortable grooming a wide variety of breeds and coat types.
  • Strong clipper, scissoring, bathing, brushing, and finishing skills.
  • Safe and patient dog-handling skills.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Professional communication and customer-service skills.
  • Comfortable speaking with clients during check-in and pickup.
  • Willingness to help with cleaning, bathing, front desk responsibilities, and general salon operations when needed.
  • Ability to work efficiently without sacrificing safety or quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must provide personal grooming tools, including clippers, blades, shears, combs, and brushes.
